Construction Lien Act and Contractor Licensure

The Michigan Lumber and Building Materials Association owes a fiduciary obligation to its members to take any reasonable and necessary action to protect the association's proprietary rights and its assets from damages resulting from infringement or usurpation by way of (including but not limited to) exportation through association membership, advertising in association publications, or exhibiting at the association sponsored events or trade shows. Therefore, to enforce its rights under this policy, the Michigan Lumber and Building Materials Association may refuse to accept advertising or other material for publication in any association publication to anyone where the Board of Directors of the Association has reason to believe such action would be in the best interest of the associational in furtherance of the provisions of the policy.
