How the Safety Group Concept Works
A safety group is a loss sensitive insurance program that enables employers in the same industry to combine their insurance premiums with the goal of reducing their insurance premiums. While it is possible that an individual safety group participant may have a substantial loss in any given year, most of the participants of the group will not.  The group programs spread the risk from the individual policyholder to the entire group.  That often allows a portion of the premiums to be returned to the member in the form of a dividend, although dividends cannot be guaranteed.
